Privacy Policy

This policy explains what soclip collects, why, and what it never touches. It is short because the Service is deliberately built to hold very little.

1. What we collect

Account data: your GitHub user ID and email address, supplied by Clerk when you sign in, plus your credit balance and API key.

Usage records: for each API call we store the endpoint, the source platform (e.g. “tiktok”), whether it succeeded, how many credits it cost, and a timestamp. Usage records are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Payment records: the amount, the pack purchased, and the Whop payment ID. Card numbers and billing details are handled entirely by Whop and never reach our servers.

Trial abuse prevention: the IP address of anonymous trial requests, as a daily counter, kept for at most 7 days.

Product analytics: anonymous, aggregated events (page views, whether a call succeeded or failed, latency) sent to PostHog. These events carry no URLs, no titles and no request content.

2. What we do not collect

We do not store the video URLs you submit, the metadata or media links returned to you, or any media file. Requests are resolved in memory and forwarded to the upstream provider; nothing about the content of a request is written to our database.

3. Who we share it with

Only the processors needed to run the Service:

  • Clerk — authentication;
  • Whop — payments and invoicing;
  • Cloudflare — hosting, database and network;
  • PostHog — anonymous product analytics;
  • our upstream resolver — receives the URL you submit in order to resolve it.

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.

4. Your rights

Write to [email protected] to access, export or delete your account data. Deletion removes your account, API keys and usage records; payment records are kept where tax and accounting law requires it.

5. Cookies

The site sets only the session cookies required by Clerk to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
